(Vegetation EIS) From October 12, 2001, through March 29, 2002, the BLM conducted public scoping for its Vegetation Treatments Programmatic EIS, which will evaluate proposed vegetation treatment alternatives on lands managed by the BLM in the western continental United States and Alaska. The public was encouraged to comment throughout that time, either at the 19 public scoping meetings or by submitting written comments directly to the BLM. Work progresses on the BLM's Vegetation Treatments Programmatic EIS. Read the Vegetation EIS Update newsletter - January 2003 (151KB PDF) for current status.
