East Sandusky Bay Nature Preserve (Erie County, Ohio)

(' ... contains several marshland plants that are threatened with extinction ...' and then mentions public access. They may also have some oceanfront property for sale in Arizona.)

Located between Cleveland and Toledo, East Sandusky Bay is a naturally functioning freshwater marsh along the Lake Erie shoreline. This irreplaceable resource, with its hardwood forest, woodland swamp, cattail marsh, and open-water habitat, is a prime location for bird watching and is home to nesting bald eagles.

Within easy access to Cedar Point Amusement Park, a nature preserve along East Sandusky Bay would provide a quiet sanctuary for relaxation and recreation.

The Trust for Public Land is now working with Erie MetroParks and The Nature Conservancy to create a 1200-acre East Sandusky Bay Nature Preserve for public use and enjoyment.

Features:

Possibly the largest unprotected natural marsh along the Lake Erie shoreline

Prime location for bird watching and home to nesting bald eagles

Contains several marshland plants that are threatened with extinction
