DANNY WAS MY HERO

Danny was my hero

Standing brave and true,

Always was he faithful

To the Red, White & Blue.

Never did he falter

In the fight for truth and right,

Raising the "Title of Liberty"

He fought for all his life.

Tender as a father

He cared for those less strong,

Handing out his courage

So others could stand against the throng.

Never did he falter

Or fail in life’s difficult tests--

Always true to who he was

With honor did his best.

Danny was our teacher

Knowledgeable, inspired, and sound,

Always he was leading

His writings were profound.

Standing tall among the giants

Danny never feared--

He vigorously championed

God’s vision for his country so dear.

He gave his life for all that’s good

His legacy is true--

And he’ll be there each time we see

Nevada’s flag, battle born and blue.

He was Christ’s missionary

For God’s eternal plan--

Believing in the Gospel

He grew from Mormon Boy to Man.

His blue and twinkling eyes

Were often full of fun--

But standing there alone,

Dan was a majority of one.

He never thought of himself

But for his fellowmen

That they might live in this blessed land

Rejoicing in Christ, Amen.

Danny was my hero

His love was pure and true--

No guile dwelt within his heart

A Boy Scout through and through.

We see him now in far off lands

His horse a painted steed--

Doing God’s work on the other side

As in life in word and deed.

There is no doubt

Where Danny’s gone--

A finer, more generous man

Could not be found.

It’s not the age

But the mileage, he said,

Dan’s gone to join

Those who’ve gone ahead.

Danny died on our national day of shame, when unborn babies cry and would-be
mothers mourn. He worked all of his life to restore the God-given right to
life of the unborn and our divinely inspired Constitution. He was the founder
of the Independent American Party of Nevada. It was his dream and his vision.

Daniel M. Hansen was born on Jan. 10, 1942. He was killed in a truck accident
on Jan. 22, 2002.

His funeral will be Saturday, January 26, 2002 at 1pm at the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Sparks Stake Center on Rock Blvd. and McCarran
in Sparks, Nevada.

Donations may be sent to the Dan Hansen Memorial Fund, 715 Wright Way,
Sparks, Nevada 89431.

All I have ever done for my country was made possible by my brother Danny. He
taught me as his little sister, trained me, encouraged and supported me, and
most of all he loved me.
