'From the great Atlantic Ocean to the wide Pacific shore,' the song says.

Candles are burning tonight in windows across America, for Terri Schindler Schiavo and her family. Please add your lights and let them shine bright! These lights will continue to burn until Terri is no longer under the control of Michael R. Schiavo -- until she is truly safe from death at his hands.

From the Lighters:

Mom Vickie, Tennessee: Just a thought, but maybe if some reporter friend could get it started somewhere, everyone on Terri's, and her family's side, in the Nation, that can't go down there, could light a candle in their window each night for her. Right now people can buy those electric candles they put out for Christmas, that what I'm using here in Tennessee, and don't have to worry about a fire. Re: "Terri Lights" Shine Bright - Nationwide! For distribution EVERYWHERE! Good Morning Julie! It looks like that little idea of mine, really got going, and no one in the world could have worked ever harder than you, to get that idea out as fast as you did, with the exception of the Internet! Thanks so much for making "Terri's Prayer Lights" become real, I won't be afraid to bother you again, if I come up with another idea! Ha! It would seem to me, that with this new outcome on her medical X-rays, that would give Jeb Bush enough clout to place Terri back on the feeding tube, while an investigation gets started -- not after she dies! If that happens, even the Governor should be up on charges. I just wanted you to know, that when that idea came up, I was singing, "This little light of mine." When my heart is heavy, and hurts me to the core, I always think of that song, and it helps me. So you see, it really wasn't my idea, it was Gods idea! He knows our hearts even before we do. He just throws things our way, and hopes we do something with it! His will be done! Sincerely and God Bless, Mom Vickie

Jacquelyn in Tallmadge, Ohio: Mine are getting lit in the windows right now, as well as a long burning contained prayer candle so that everyone who comes into my home will know what it is for. In fact, I will label it. Thanks for the idea. Pass it on! Light your candles and say your prayers. God is bigger than this mess! There is a prayer candle burning in Ohio... I have been burning one of those tall prayer candles in a glass jar ... you can purchase them very inexpensively at craft stores ... to remind me to pray for Terri and the family, and it has been a visible witness to people who have come into my home over the weekend. I fear that time is running out for Terri and I can only imagine the anguish that her loved ones are suffering.

Gerry and Rachell Ullery in Silver City, New Mexico: We have three candles (Lights) in our front window for Terri:

One for God the Father One for Jesus the Son One for the Holy Spirit

Together for the miracles only they can provide for Terri.

Cecilia in Jacksonville, Florida: National Candle Vigil in Solidarity with Terri ... Let's light up the night for Terri! Put your "Terri Light" in the window and keep it burning. I'm in Florida ... we have candles too ... we call them "Terri Lights" Put your "Terri Light" in your window, your love for life to show! (I've put this out on a local talk show this am) It will remind you to say a prayer for Terri ... and it may add others to this mighty army of prayer warriors that cherish life and innocence!

Dee Rohe in Miami, Florida

Betty B in Connecticut: Connecticut here. My candles have been lit for Terri and will stay lit. I've also got candles burning as far north as Maine and south to Florida. GOD BLESS TERRI AND HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS IN THIS DARK HOUR. May God show no mercy when He calls that man to him and may he be enlightened with what he has done -- the brutality, the pain and the suffering he is causing.
