reinsertion of feeding tube

October 21, 2003 4:43 PM EDT The Associated Press Tallahassee, Florida - A Florida judge denied a motion to stop Florida's governor from keeping a brain-damaged woman alive. Florida's legislature passed a bill allowing the governor to order feeding tubes reconnected for Terri Schiavo, who remains in a vegetative state. Gov. Jeb Bush said he'll sign the bill, and then use it to intervene. Her husband said she did not want to be kept alive by artificial means, but her parents have spent years in losing court efforts to keep her alive. Pinellas Circuit Court Judge George Greer cited technical grounds in denying the husband's motion, but the request to block the new measure can be refiled.
