| Prayer From the 4th of July
Celebration in Tulelake, California
Prayer July 4, 2003 Today at the Tulelake fairground, in the Klamath Basin, was a 4th of July celebration. It was awesome...several thousand local residents came to celebrate our country, and give tribute to the veterans who fought to keep our country free. Woody Chambers, an 83-year-old WWII veteran who was given a homestead to farm for his service to his country, sang the national anthem. Thousands of Americans cheered. They celebrated the veterans. They celebrated the flag. The ceremony revolved around our country and our freedom. This community ... especially these American Heroes, believe in you. They believe in their country. They believe in the community they have built ... the churches they built in your name to nurture their families ... and the children they raised. God hear our prayers. We kneel to you. We fly our flags. We tend our crops and wildlife, and you make them grow. Image: http://www.klamathbasincrisis.org/Photos/images-photos/Life-Cover.jpg We pray for water certainty to be restored to Your fields and Your creatures: the geese, ducks, snakes and frogs that were devastated in 2001 -- the 1st time in all history. We ask you for certainty so we can get bank loans and keep our produce contracts. We ask you for certainty so our farm labor, who have lived here for generations, can remain. We ask you for peer-reviewed science -- science with honor and truth rather than agenda-driven opinions. And we ask you for certainty so our elderly can live, and die, in peace. The stress of this betrayal by our government is literally killing them ... even though their life has been defending and feeding their country. God, we ask you in all humility ... give us our water certainty for our Klamath Basin. You are love, and you are truth. Your promise is that the truth will set us free. Guide our lives that we may be worthy of your gifts. In Jesus name, amen. http://www.klamathbasincrisis.org/kbc%20prayer.htm KlamathBasinCrisis Prayer Archive Page: http://www.klamathbasincrisis.org/prayerarchives.htm
