| Dear Federal Government
April 8, 2003 By Roni Bell Sylvester P.O. Box 155 La Salle, CO 80645 970-284-6874 We sincerely appreciate your continuing efforts on trying to hold our agricultural communities together, while recognizing the importance of our economic productivity and environmental health. One area I'd like to caution you on, is "conservation easements," particularly any that might be connected to any entity like the Nature Conservancy. Please, keep your agreements LOCAL, LOCAL, LOCAL, with those most impacted. Please, honor county and states authorities first and always foremost. Additionally, my caution comes because The Nature Conservancy and many groups of its kind, are under increasing scrutiny. Accumulated findings thus far are factually damaging, and may justify the launch of investigations. When the truth about these groups is publicly revealed, it could very possibly show how much their destructive actions are costing rural, urban, everyone -- worldwide! Please -- shun these groups from the onset, and from here on out, because any association with these groups could unnecessarily mar the credibility of the Department of the Interior and any Government agency that has agreements with them. |
