Every adult was once a teenager, replete with raging hormones and the awakening awareness of what certain looks, moves and touches would ultimately come to mean.

Flirting progressed to actual touch, and everyone knew by the way folks danced (no matter what age), where they stood, feelings-wise.

The exploding number of teenage pregnancies, abortions and suicides should indicate that there's more to this "style" of dancing than a mere generational thing.

Kids got pregnant in the fifties and sixties, too.

It's almost impossible for a teenager not to be aware of another warm body in such close proximity, sending such signals, whether on a dance floor or in a parked car or on a living room couch.

Kids, we understand hormones. It's why the principal and some parents are seeing Red Flags when you "push the envelope" and advertise that you're ready for sex.

It's not about spite. It's about "We've been there and done that," and we know where that path can, and often does, lead.
