Viewing area closed to reduce stress on wolves

(Note from BH: Wait a minute; wait a gaul danged minute here! Haven't the pro-wolf reintroduction folks been touting how wolves will bring in tourists that will add big bucks to local economies? Now those human tourists are stressing out the wolves! Real good 'science' used here, folks...)

(Note: This is an agency of the Department of Interior, and such a decision is likely to have been made with the knowledge -- and at the very least, tacit approval -- of Gale Norton. Where are these taxpayer-gobbling folks when the elk are being stressed for real by wolves? Having buffalo burgers for lunch at a Ted Turner Montana Grill?)

Moose, Wyoming - Grand Teton National Park will close a wildlife viewing area to reduce stress levels in a pack of wolves living nearby.

Visitors often view the Teton Pack from a knoll near Elk Ranch Flats. But park officials now say they'll close the area at least until July first.

Seasonal closures are common in that part of the park, but park officials expanded the area they'll close around the Teton Pack's denning site in order to protect the animals.

Recently, animals in the pack have shown signs of distress, which park officials say might have been caused by human disturbances.
